Is there a way to make adjustments to the mobile view of the forum? On my iPod the login feature argues with me that I put in the wrong password even though it's lying. The main forum page is a touch skewed which makes it hard to find buttons. I manage to get through and the font and buttons are large. I'm being very careful not to accidently delete things with mod powers.

Sure! We can, but I'm not entirely sure how. You have the mobile version that has the white background, yes? Vbulleting put out a new mobile version, but it didn't seem to work properly. Are you willing to go into the template manager and work on it? I warn you that it might be changed shortly with the new release of vBulletin... I'd hate for work to go to waste.

The mobile experience is very browser dependent.
Currently, there's a script that tries to recognize your webbrowser. It compares it to a list of mobile browsers, and if there's a match, it will show the forum using a template that's optimized for touch screens.
However, if it doesn't detect yours correctly, you'll be viewing the regular desktop version, which your phone might render incorrectly.
Edit: Sorry, missed you said you have an iPod. It should recognize that just fine.

ah so there are two different versions? a mobile and the normal desktop version? cause i've been getting both recently on my iphone (so thats safari i think) but personally i'd much rather have the desktop version the mobile version seems really stripped down

We might be able to use a different mobile template, but I believe the current plugin doesn't allow switching to the desktop version once it recognizes a mobile browser.

I have no idea how it works. But the buttons are missing and you have to click a recent post to get to the forums section.

I miss the ability to use the full web page. Its really helpful as a mod to get the full functionality on my phone in the rare instances i'm without the lappy

clicking the link works fine, but as soon as I click to navigate somewhere else it returns to mobile. C'est la vie.

On your pc, go to:
Forum Actions -> General settings.
Scroll all the way down.
Where it says 'Forum Skin' change 'Forum default' to 'Dark v2'
That should override the mobile skin.

dark v2 was already my skin of choice. Its across both android and os4, so I know its not just my device being funky...unless they both are.

I might look into it later. Currently I'm pretty tired, and I don't quite feel like breaking the forum just yet.

Yeah....I know the feeling! I'll try to myself but I have this huge fear of making everything go boom...

The first place to look would be the mobile plugin's documentation: look up the name of the plugin, then hit it up in your search engine of choice. If it says anything about overruling (and it probably will), you got you answer right there.

So now that things are working pretty well on the mobile skin, is there a way to change it so when you switch from mobile to default style it will stay the default style when you click on things?
every time I click on a link of any kind it navigates back into the mobile browser. I know it can be done, I just don't know how

I'll get on it. It's stored in the cookie.

Take your time, pops :) I don't expect you to be able to work on this anytime soon.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post it or if it even matters, but the mobile version and the full version appear to be in different time zones(an hours difference), it might just be a DST switch that hasn't been toggled or something.

That's rather odd. The skins are completely unrelated to the timezones they display - that's dependant on your account.
Your profile is set to automatically detect DST. It might have to do with the settings on your mobile device.
Try switching it from automatic to manual, and make sure you selected the right timezone and DST setting.

I just wanted to get an update on this, so, bump.
I recently had some frustrations with it.
