How in the world did you get the actors to cough so convincingly? It's one thing to fake a cough, it's another thing to get the racking dry coughs that you get from smoke inhalation.

One thing I did once, (just because I was trying to get out of school), was right before talking to my mother, I poured some salt/pepper down my throat. Made me cough very convincingly for the next 15 minutes or so. Hurt too.

We are blessed with an extremeley talented crew of actors. I don't think that KC would risk their health with to get better results. But then again, I don't really know him.

You never know some actors are willing to do whatever it takes to get the most real sounding performance as possible.
