The Ultimate Warrior dead at 54

I know there are a few random wrestling fans in the forum and I'm sure you've heard by now, but The Ultimate Warrior died yesterday less than 24 hours after appearing on Monday Night Raw for the first time in 15 years. He was 54 and is survived by his wife and 2 daughters.

In hindsight his words from Raw are eerie.

I was never a huge Warrior fan, I certainly never liked his post wrestling politics, but watching his acceptance speech to the Hall of Fame where he was escorted out by his daughters and saying in spite of everything he accomplished in his career the most awesome thing he's ever done was be their dad...it seemed like he finally made peace with his dark and chaotic past and had embraced a new out look on his life.

I'm grateful he got a chance to speak to his fans before he passed. RIP Ultimate (dare I now say...Immortal) Warrior.

I was thinking about it on my train ride in and the strongest memory I have for some reason is that bizarre promo he cut during his Papa Shango feud where he started to bleed that black oil from his scalp. I remember the Wrestlemania VI match with Hogan, but it was just before my time into wrestling so it doesn't register as clearly.

My wife told me about this about an hour ago. I remember the Ultimate Warrior's intro song. That would pump up my brother when we watched wrestling as kids.

That Papa Shango feud scared the crap out of me as a kid. That and when Undertaker locked him in a coffin on Superstars, gave me nightmares.

So sad to hear about this, especially after he was just on RAW the night before. So sudden.
