Physically dead, intellectually quite stimulating:

Great job, NASA! You did it! Another step towards. We are most likely not alone in the universe. And to all U.S. citizens who fund NASA, thanks, this is such amazing news. Who cares if the smoke coming out of the chimney of the Sistine Chapel?

Go Curiosity!

Agreed on the NASA stuff.
Disagreed on the people Roman Catholic Church. (I say this although I would be considered a heathen by the members of the Roman Catholic Church.)

No, they would not call you a heathen. I guess they would call you an unused potential -> it is all about newspeak. :)

The longer we go without We're Alive the more provocative the "Everything Else" section seems to become....

Mayhaps we as a group should not make inflammatory statements that are likely to stick in someone's craw. NASA's discovery is cool indeed and in my opinion is just kind of a "well duh" moment in science....Life can exist off earth.

However, I'm barely Catholic but Pope elections are awesome in its severely old school yet high tech nature. Who else builds a false floor in a church to put jamming devices in?

Ah, the conclave is not what it used to be as there is no way a future pope will every be called Lando again:

Roman Catholic Church: Habemus Papam.
NASA pictures from Mars: Still no proof of former Marsian life.

I'd like to go on record as saying, "There is nothing wrong with having faith in something which gives you comfort in times of need. There is something wrong with ignoring potential in times of desperation."

RCC: Full concealment (in terms of the voting process) at its best.
NASA: Full disclosure at its best concerning the facts.

Well, let the crow in front of the via conciliazione cheer.

I prefer having a crowd in front of the Gorgonzola cheer ...

Oh, fresh blood on the throne - the new pope was born in 1936. What?
