Is this real? They're making it again? Honestly, I thought the first spiderman movies sucked. I'll see it, but I don't have high hopes.

Yep, this is real. idk, i'm happy that he has mechanical web shooters instead of that "natural" garbage.

Sony has to keep making these movies and renewing their contracts otherw ise it goes back to Marvel (and by association, Disney). They weren't happy with what Raimi wanted to do (somthing about The Vulture, it wasn't going to make up for the trainwreck of Spidey 3 which was a train wreck because the studio pushed Venom on him) and so they're Rebooting the whole thing from scratch and now its actually going to be about Peter in high school
also: His suit is made out of the basketball teams uniforms because he stole them after the beat him up (or something along those lines)

I'm glad they made it mechanical I guess. I always found it rather curious as to why the changed it in the last one. It sounds like it should be better, I just find it strange they're giving it another go. Maybe this means there is hope for Eragon being remade, since the first one was such an epic fail.

It has nothing to do with wanting another shot and everything to do with them wanting to keep the cash flow from having a superhero movie come out.

The reason Sam Raimi switched the webbing to be natural in movies 1-3 was pretty simple: No one would be capable of creating the webbing out of substances available on the market, condense it down into a cartridge, and make a shooter capable of what is done in the comics. Making it a genetic alteration was a way of modernizing the mythos of the character and making it more plausible....you know... as plausible as a dude swinging around NYC on a web of course...
at first I was opposed to the concept of Spider-Man not having that mechanical weakness, but I found that it didn't influence my enjoyment of the first three films. My question is why in the blue hell does this series need a reboot 3 years after its original run ended?

They were going to make another three films, they just cut Raimi and started over. With casting, pre-production, production, post-production on a completely new series with a new look, new story, new effects. It took quite a bit of time to get the darn thing made. I was hearing about this almost two years ago. They didn't even find their Peter Parker until last year: http://marvel.com/news/story/13066/andrew_garfield_cast_as_the_new_spider-man

I hope the cgi in the actual movie is better than in this trailer. It looked like a video game when was running around on the walls and stuff.

I wouldn't take that as a sign. If the Avengers movie is going to be successful (as I suspect it will, it has all the ingredients to be awesome), you can bet your behind that they'll make a sequel. May I say, dun dun dunn?

you know, even though people say, why are they rebooting this series it's too soon. It's not too soon, because at the end of the day that movie's gonna do damn well at the box office, and it'll prly be fun too.
