Say it was to become a tv show.
What cast do you think should be on the show, should it be the original voice actors or someone best suited for the role?
Post your thoughts here.

But seriously I'd get some hot chicks to play the women in the series. Cast in there Hayley Williams and Susan Coffey.

Sad to say, in Mr. Gleason's own words, he wouldn't be suited visually for the role. You could of course edit the details to suit the appearances of the original cast, but if it were to be made into a TV show, a movie, or basically anything but an animated series/movie backed by any major producing company you'd probably be forced to recast. And most likely be forced to cast a name....
...Odds are Johnny Depp would end up playing Michael....he's in everything these days...

Keep the voice actors, although some of them probably wouldn't look right for the role, and if it was edited to look better I don't think it would work out very well.

Wow this was a rly cool idea, cause i always do this in my mind, with books and stuff, where i'll have pictures of the person i imagine as the character. but i thought i was a nutcase for doing so, so i never brought it up.
oh and i disagree, if ur gonna do a tv show, kick off the voice actors, im sorry but they were chosen for their voices, if u want to have a successful tv show u have to put pretty people on the cover otherwise the ppl wont watch. It sucks but thats the society we live in.
Jude Law has been my version of Angel (and ever since the war, i've always imagined angel wearing a suit so this works out for me anyway)

uhhh this is a french actress named marion cotillard, so i figured she could make a good riley.

Perfect! I don't think I could think of a better fit for Kelly. Jewel would be awesome! While on the possibility of Stargate characters being in a We're Alive TV Show. I think that Joe Flanigan (http://www.insidesocal.com/outinhollywood/,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,flanigan.jpg) would be a great Michael.
I think that Adam Baldwin (http://manginamonologues.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/adam-baldwin1.jpg?w=413&h=599), with a bit of a make over of course would be a great burt. He has the right attitude and range for it. Just needs a white beard and a small bit of a gut (probably not required as character development would change in a TV adaptation).

I like Brian Dennehy as Burt. He fits in body size wise with what I imagine Burt to look like, and can definitely be just a crotchety. I dont think anyone has mentioned them yet but I think Jake and Maggie Gyllenhall (http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1141283584/nm0787601) for Latch and Scratch would be interesting. Obviously they are actually brother and sister, and they both have good acting chops. I think with short hair and a giant scar Maggie could be a right bitch. I always imagined them as suburban white kids then Scratch went off the deep end, and Latch got caught up in it.

I think Michael sounds like Kevin Sorbo....took me forever to figure out who he reminded me of. Am I alone in this? (Kevin Sorbo would be totally wrong for the part, though) Maybe the sherrif from Eureka would make a good Michael, if he were younger.
Bert should be Michael Ironside- because he should be in everything that's awesome! (Yeah, I know he's nothing like the guy who plays Bert now)
Lance Henrikson should be in it too....but he doesn't fit ANY of the characters, so they's have to make up a part for him. (cause Frank Black's THE MAN!!!)
Don't know who he'd play, but Malcolm Jamal Warner was awesome in Jeremiah- he fits the whole post-apocalypse survival genre. Couldn't see him as Michael or Angel tho...probably another new character on the TV show....

Damond Wayans Jr. as Saul
Eesh. I'm not a fan of Damon Wayans Jr., or for that matter, any of the Wayan brothers. IMO, they are just the epitome of awful acting.
Kevin Smith as Kalani
Never even thought of using him. Wow. I think this one will have to develop in my mind. The problem I have is Kevin Smith comes off as lovable in all his roles, and so I would have a hard time seeing him playing someone who isn't liked by all.

I probably should read the last 9 pages but I want to suggest that instead of watching Live action show, how about a animated series instead so to keep the VA's around. I mean in japan the VA's make audio dramas for their respective series. So, how we do the opposite and keep them on board for animated series?
Feel free to tear me apart if this already been suggested.

That would b a bit odd
Im not much of a fan of Depp (he can b a great actor but all his roles blur into one 4 me)
I would love 2 c it as an animation either realistic or not.

Odd or not, Hollywood follows a formula. Big Name Actor/Actress must be in just about everything. And Depp is in just about everything. I never said he'd fit well, I'm just saying he'd probably get cast as something......hmmm....maybe Skittles....

Call Me crazy but i think Jim Carey would make a good skittles im not so much weighing him against other actors for the role but he does have a very thin almost starved body type... with a little makeup im thinking he could get pretty convincing. the other thing is he has played a lot of crazy and zainy characters, the only thing is i dont know if he would fit into the serious role, not because he lacks the skill, but people just wouldn't expect it and it might even take away from the story when they expect him to be funny and start complaining in the theater.

Kc says the problem with animation is that the script is written specifically for audio only, so it would be extremely difficult to animate if not impossible. So they'd have to re-write all the scripts and start from scratch if they were to do an animated thing. They can't just add visuals to the audio that they already have

It would be a drag. Don't know if anyone watching Walking Dead, but watched few episodes and cannot stand it. I think voice actors do much better job than tv actors. I think it's more thought through, it feels like you are actually there.
From commercial point of view, it would be great if we could purchase the cd's as digital copy with digital book in itunes. Hence internationally it's rather harder to order from USA,the taxes and postal is taking additional costs. Would love to buy novelties our souvenirs fridge magnets, iphone covers etc with the art from podcast.

I am slightly absent minded at times, so I didn't notice for a long time that there is art for the podcast. So before I've seen art I imagined those as (and still do at times).
Please let me know what you think on my thoughts.
Michael - Average build, short messy hair, dark green eyes. Has a determined look, awkward once feelings are involved. His parent's died when he was young (?) so I picture his behaviour sometimes similar to Brennan Bones. - if he was ever described I don't think I paid attention. This applies to everyone.
Angel - Tall, dirty blond, blue eyes. Sometimes rolls eyes in annoyance, rarely breaks in smile, his movements are sudden when he driven by adrenalin and stiff when he is moody.
Saul - Wide forehead, shaved or almost bald, round face slightly flat, big mouth, large potato nose. Shorter than Michael, broad shoulders. He moves quickly and with an ease, almost like a cat. He probably one of those people that while talks gesticulates, but not as much as Italians do. He is rather emotional, but there is something calm about his touch. Maybe because he is kind.
Pegs – red or reddish hair, short, not chubby but definitely curvy. Chocolate eyes, button pug nose (hope this makes sense, can draw or photoshop if necessary). She doesn’t have a pale skin, on contrary it’s slightly tanned or just camel colour. She is very sudden, maybe too much at times. Impulsive and sensitive. Maybe she is not clumsy but definitely bumps a lot while moving, so might have bruises in odd places.
Riley – Olive skin, big almond eyes, pointy but well shaped long nose, normal thickness lips wide mouth. Her figure is more of an apple, wide shoulders as if she is a swimming athlete. She might be skinny, but because of her build you won’t say that. She is the same height as Michael. Thick dark hair, she might have hair on her arms too. He face is angled, maybe heavy chin – not too much just slightly. Which doesn’t make her very attractive in the classical sense. She moves normally for me, and doesn’t have any distinguish features.
- Will write more when will have time.

I love the cast. They all do a great job of portraying their characters, but if it ever does become a T.V. show some of the cast might need to be recast due to the physicality of the roles as well as age (i.e. Mr. Gleason [sorry Mr. Gleason], and Mr. Oligario [sorry Jay, you're too young...unless they can do some makeup magic to add a few years on you]). Shane would also need to cut and dye his hair =P.

idk- my mind would like to see it as a graphic novel.
I'm American- I like pictures- what can I say.
I just get kinda sad at how things like "The Walking Dead" go from an epic graphic novel to so-so TV show due to all the filler and "ethnic boundaries" I am sure will pop up soon enough
But anyways- WA as a TV show- would be interesting to see- it certainly has all of the characteristics to be as great on TV as it is on podcast. I would actually prefer a series vs a movie, let the emotions stir up and all.
Hope KC is eventually pursued by someone with the idea :)
